Rockingham CC Improves Fabrication Center With Clean Air America’s Help
Recently Rockingham Community College opened a new and improved Fabrication Center with the help of Clean Air America WeldStation welding booths. This center was created with the increased need of advanced manufacturing and other skilled labor opportunities in the North Carolina area. Part of these improvements came in part to the Golden LEAF Foundation grant, a grant designed to distribute funds for projects that will make an economic impact on North Carolina.
Rockingham CC purchased 9 WeldStation LEAF dual welding booths from Clean Air America to accommodate 18 students at a time. These welding booths are state-of-the-art LEAF (Low Energy Air Filtration) booths that use a combination of an Economizer for automatic start/stop and a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) to the booth consume up to 70% less energy. Clean Air’s WeldStations are completely self-contained, meaning all fumes are passed through one of 4 filters to clean the air which is then returned directly to the room it’s in.
