Beretta Moving to Tennessee
Tuesday, the Italian gun manufacturer, Beretta announced they will be moving the Maryland factory to Tennessee. The gun control laws have become increasingly restrictive in Maryland. Beretta had planned a $45 million facility just outside of Nashville but in the end decided on Gallatin, TN. Beretta did lobby against lawmakers to reverse key provisions in Maryland’s new gun control laws but they fear those laws could still be reintroduced in the future. Though the manufacturing plant will be moving to Tennessee in 2015 the corporate office will remain in Maryland. All current Beretta manufacturing employees will be given the option to retain their current job if they are willing to relocate.
