A supplier of timing gears to automotive manufacturers will invest $12 million to expand its facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. This plan creates 50 jobs for TorqTek. The new operations will be at 4500 Leeds Avenue, housed in approximately 100,000 square feet. TorqTek was founded in 1995 as a joint venture of GATRAG Gears of North America and Cummins Inc. and was renamed in 2012 as a part of a management buyout. It currently employs 138 workers.
