June 4, 2015

One of North America's market leader for tailor welded automotive products, TWB Company announced that they will be expanding it's operations by opening a new manufacturing facility in Nashville, TN.  TWB will be investing $18 million into this new facilities and creating 41 new jobs in the Davidson County area.  The new facility located at 6050 Dana Way will be the company's second location in Tennessee and will be around 120,000 square feet.  This location will manufacture tailor welded blanks that come in different thicknesses and strengths that have been joined together via laser welding and then stamped into automotive body panels.

The new facility will include brand new fiber lasers and curvilnear welding technology in order to help reduce weight of the parts while increasing the strength.  “TWB’s expansion in Tennessee reinforces our global reputation as a leader in the automotive manufacturing industry,” Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said. “I want to thank TWB for choosing to open another location in our state and for the new jobs they’re creating in our communities.”

Formed in 1992, TWB Company, LLC is a joint venture of Worthington Industries and Wuhan Iron and Steel Company. Worthington Industries holds majority ownership, 55 percent, of the joint venture and financial results are consolidated within Worthington’s Steel Processing business segment.
