While the welding program at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE will benefit directly from a recent purchase of additional dual Clean Air America WeldStation™ units, another program is benefitting as well.

The Commercial Truck Driving program from Northeast Community College provides classroom and real-time instruction for students wishing to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license to operate a semi over the road.  This program recently afforded the opportunity for a student driver, David Reyes, and instructor Ed Lewis, to travel more than 1,067 miles one-way to Rome, GA to pick up the welding program’s Clean Air America WeldStation™ units.  For Clean Air America, it is a dual partnership that creates such pride not only when repeat customers return, but when partners include Clean Air in helping close the skills gap that is increasingly present across the United States.  The team knocked out snow drifts in order to leave Nebraska on their way to Georgia; time on the road will be at least a day and a half to return to the college.  This is the fourth time that the college has been able to send a student to pick up the welding program’s new units from Clean Air America.  More information on Northeast CC’s truck driving program is available here: .

Northeast Community College’s welding program focuses on the major welding and cutting processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). The coursework helps in the development of quality welds in all positions on plate and pipe. Successful completion of the diploma gives students the technical information required for entry-level employment.  Clean Air America’s WeldStation™ units have been in use at the college since 2009, and additional units have been added as budgetary funds allow.  More information on Northeast CC’s welding programs is available here: .

Clean Air America’s WeldStations™ are in service in over 375 technical colleges, universities, training centers, and educational facilities across the United States and Canada.  Are you ready for help with your new or updated welding lab project?
