Lippert

Problem

Lippert, a global manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered products and customized solutions for the RV, marine, automotive, commercial vehicle and building products industries wanted to improve the air quality in a trailer manufacturing process.  Trailer manufacturing requires frequent movement by the welders to cover the entire length of the trailers being built.  As a result, source capture was ruled out as impractical.

Solution

The Clean Air Industries Streamer™ series was presented as the solution – a compact, easy to maintain, and effective solution for filtering the manufacturing areas. The Clean Air Streamer™ would allow for reduced maintenance during operation – automatic pulse jet cleaning online and offline when the units were shut down for shift changes – which was an advantage over disposable filter units. The Clean Air Streamer™ proved also effective for mounting over cut-off saws; it fit easily along the interior wall perimeter and did not interfere with material handling and process flow. The Clean Air Streamer™ presented costs savings as the company’s own maintenance and rigger crew could install the systems. The Clean Air Streamer™ was a clear advantage over a traditional push-pull system with ductwork which would have interfered with cranes and the material flow with trailer chassis rolling into and out of the weld bays. After an initial installation, the customer selected three additional manufacturing plants where an additional 99 units were installed. The customer is pleased with the final results and filter life is averaging 8-9 months.
